This Interactive Safety Workshop will be held at Heros Aviation in Grand Isle, Vermont.  Heros Aviation has 3 facets in its operation.  First, Heros is the New England and East Coast distributor for Poly-Fiber, Ceconite, and Randolph products for fabric-covered airplanes.  Second, Heros operates a Float Plane training facility at their Middle Hero Seaplane Base from May-Oct, giving dual instruction, SES training and ratings for qualified pilots, and sight-seeing rides in the Lake Champlain basin.  Third, Heros’ owner, Doug Smith, has instructed for 33-years, and continues a full free-lance instructional schedule at local airports and seaplane bases, with students in the new Light Sport category in J-3 cubs, as well as Private, Commercial & Instrument students in most single engine aircraft types at Northern Lights Airport, Burlington, Allenholm Airport, and other area aerodromes.  He has recently retired from a 29-year career with Delta Air Lines, as a Check Pilot on a variety of air carrier jets,  and has just been named an FAA Safety Team Representative for the Vermont & New York areas.  His heated hangar provides an inviting place for pilot meetings, and ongoing year-around are various restoration projects of fabric-covered airplanes as well.

ALL pilots and interested future pilots or friends and family members are encouraged and welcome to attend and participate.  Our primary goal is the long-term safety of general aviation and accident prevention.  There is no charge for attendance at any FAA-sponsored Safety Seminars or Wings Programs.
